Tencent Open-Sources Hy Memory 2.0, Giving Agents a Working Memory
Tencent's Hunyuan team has released Hy Memory 2.0 under an open-source license, adding working memory and code memory specifically for AI agents. The release targets one of the most stubborn limits in agent design: the ability to retain and reuse context across long, multi-step tasks without blowing the context window or the budget. By open-sourcing it, Tencent lowers the barrier for teams that want memory infrastructure they can self-host and audit. It's a direct shot at the proprietary memory layers being bundled into commercial agent platforms.
