NVIDIA Warns Agentic AI Is Straining GPU Memory Supply
NVIDIA posted a deep dive on why GPU memory is getting squeezed. Three things are driving it: bigger models, longer contexts, and agentic apps. At the same time, supply is tight and prices are climbing. NVIDIA says it's working on full-stack codesign with its memory partners. The company points out it was first to put HBM3e and HBM4 into its accelerated computing stack. The post's main argument: memory, not compute, is the near-term limit on AI scaling.
Agentic workloads that use long contexts eat up a lot of memory.
NVIDIA was the first to put HBM3e and HBM4 into production accelerated computing.
Memory supply will likely stay tight for now, and prices are going up.
